How would you explain your job to someone who doesn’t know VFX?
As compositors, we take all the various elements from different departments and combine them into a final shot.
What does a day in the life look like?
Grabbing some coffee and getting the kids out the door. Then, I look over all my shots and if needed clarify anything with Supervisors. I lay out a basic work plan for my day based on priorities (which usually change as the day goes). I put on some music and start pushing pixels around.
What are some of your favorite projects? Why?
I'm someone that likes when work is different and changing. So, every new project that I'm on I like because it's new to me; but Weapons stands out as a fun one to work on.
Working with a lot of different elements and problem solving to make things work was something that I really enjoyed.

Weapons | Warner Bros.
What's something you wish people knew about what you do?
How much work goes into the unseen VFX in movies/shows.
The overall number of shots that most people don't even know that were touched by VFX teams.
What is something that excites you about your career?
Every new project I get to be on excites me. New shots and visuals always keep my interest.
Are you learning anything new?
Always learning!
I think I learn at least one new thing with every project, from coworkers or from just trying new things when problem solving. Outside of work, I'm constantly have to learn out to fix things around the house. (2 young kids)
What do you like to do outside of work?
I have two young kids, so they take most of my time outside of work.
When I do some time, I like fixing thing or working with my hands.
Right now, I'm fixing up my motorcycle that's been neglected for over 10 years.
What's the best advice you've ever received?
Prepare for the worst, hope for the best.
