How would you explain your job to someone who doesn’t know VFX?
I bridge the gap between film production and our VFX artists to ensure we capture what's necessary to achieve the project's creative vision involving VFX.
What does a day in the life look like?
I'm involved in all stages of Production. In Pre-production, I'm reading scripts, bidding, planning, and attending meetings. In Production, I'm guiding on set and gathering materials for VFX. In Post-Production, I'm in relaying info from production to the VFX team and vice-versa, attending spotting sessions and reviews with clients, and supervising and directing our VFX artists.
What are some of your favorite projects? Why?
The Melanie Martinez music videos remain my favorite project because there was so much creativity and problem solving. The crew and artist were very collaborative and we worked together to come up with ideas and visuals that look like nothing else.

What's something you wish people knew about what you do?
Production can be a high pressure and intense place. Part of my job is being a decisive, reassuring, and confident presence amongst stress and anxiety while getting what the project needs to be successful.
What is something that excites you about your career?
I love working on difficult new problems everyday. It keeps me engaged and energized in my work. I love stepping up to a challenge in a high pressure situation.
Are you learning anything new?
Yes if you aren't learning in VFX you are falling behind. I am spending a lot of my time learning AI workflows right now, not to replace VFX work but to enhance and optimize it.
What do you like to do outside of work?
I love music, basketball, yoga, nature, poker, mindfulness, and art.
What's the best advice you've ever received?
Be here, now.
